1. Write letters/emails to each other

Instead of just talking on the phone or saying ‘I love you’ through emoticons, take the time out to write down your feelings for your significant other. There’s nothing more intimate than reading how much you are loved and cared for, no matter how long you’ve been dating. Talk about past memories together, your first date or make future plans together and tell them how much it means to have them in your life.

2. Cook each other’s favourite meal

Who said dinner dates have to only happen at a restaurant? Recreate a dinner date night by cooking each other’s favourite meal or cooking the same meal together over a video call. Sit at a table as you would in each other’s presence and enjoy your meal together. Go all out and add a beverage and dessert to the night’s menu.

3. Take an online class together

There are many online courses available and instead of taking it alone, share this time with your partner by enrolling in the same course and taking it together. If you share similar hobbies, it will make finding a course easier and a lot more fun. If not, find something you have in common and do that. You will not only learn something new, but you will also get to spend more quality time with your significant other.

5. Movie dates never go out of style

There’s nothing more traditional than a movie date and nothing more exciting than sharing a good movie together and talking about it afterwards. Popular streaming platforms allow more than one person to watch a movie at the same time. There’s even an in-movie chat so you can laugh and talk about the details while the movie plays.

Double the dates for twice the fun! Adding more people to the mix could be a recipe for a party. So have a virtual date night and invite another couple to a video call. You can play online board games together or just bounce ideas off each other about what to do during this time of social distancing. Break out some snacks and beverages, and you’ve got yourself a fun night.

I loved the concept of sending cake & having our favourite dish together. The date night ideas worked out perfectly due to the current situation. My partner was delighted and we had a great time virtually.

The date night ideas in this blog are the absolute cutest!! Even though all of these can be done virtually, in a socially distanced manner, they are still entertaining and romantic. For example, I sent my partner a care package, and we then had a movie date. It was perfect.
